Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in the contest. The children celebrated Dr. Seuss b-day and had a blast during RIF. Our theme this year was the “The Colors of Friendship”. Children were involved in a variety of activities that focused on the book the “The Talking Crayons’. The children made friendship bracelets, friendship necklaces, friendship rules, painted with kool aid, made a friendship quilt, color bookmarks, painted feet collages, crayola creations, friendship salad, color books, danced with scarves, wore color hats, performed for parents, used lending library, had 3 make and take with parents, and community readers. We have had one of our distribution. I let the children pick out colored hats, scarves to wear then they picked one item out of the treasure chest so we could discuss how we could be a friend with that item they picked. We then read the story my Many Colored Days. Then the children chose their free book to take home. I love RIF it is my passion and joy each year to plan the theme with staff and parents the activities and to promote a love for books. Thank you RIF Darcia
